1. Who we are

niokyar Industrial Co., Ltd. ("niokyar", "we", "us") designs, manufactures and codes custom AI plush toys and companion early-education software. Our facility is located at Room 5306, 29 Huanggushan Road, Cuiyuan Street, Xihu District, Hangzhou, China. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data collected through niokyar.com and our B2B services.

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), niokyar is the data controller. Our contact details are in Section 11.

2. Scope

This policy covers the niokyar.com website, wholesale inquiry and sample-order forms, customer accounts, and related B2B communications. It does not cover the data processed by our AI companion products themselves; those devices are designed with no GPS and no camera and are documented separately in our product materials.

3. What data we collect

• Business contact data: company name, contact person, business email, phone number, country, target market, product interest and order volume.
• Inquiry and order data: messages, sample selections, shipping address and order history.
• Account data: email, password (stored as a salted hash), name, gender and optional phone number for registered buyers, together with order and review history. New accounts are confirmed by an email verification code.
• Comments: if you comment on a blog post, we store the name you provide, an optional email address, the comment text and your IP address.
• Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed and cookies (see Section 8).
• Live chat data: when you use the on-site chat, we store your messages, a random visitor identifier, IP address, approximate region, referring page and any contact details you choose to share, so we can answer your questions and follow up.
• We do not collect special-category (sensitive) personal data, and our website is B2B only. We do not knowingly collect personal data about children through this site.

4. How we use your data

• To respond to wholesale inquiries and prepare quotations.
• To process sample orders and fulfil manufacturing contracts.
• To operate and secure customer accounts.
• To send service communications such as order status and account alerts.
• To improve the website and our products, and to analyse aggregated, non-identifying usage.
• To comply with legal, tax and export-control obligations.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effect, and we do not sell your personal data.

5. Legal basis (GDPR)

Where the EU GDPR applies we rely on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) to evaluate and respond to B2B inquiries, on contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) to process orders and accounts, and on legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) for tax, accounting and export compliance. Where we rely on consent (for example optional marketing), you may withdraw it at any time.

6. Data sharing

We share data only as needed:

• With vetted manufacturing, logistics and payment partners who help fulfil your order.
• With professional advisers, auditors and authorities where required by law.
• Within the niokyar group companies.

We require all processors to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security. We never sell personal data to third parties.

7. International transfers

niokyar is based in China. If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom or another region with cross-border transfer rules, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful mechanism to protect your data when it is transferred outside your jurisdiction.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies for session management, security (CSRF protection) and login state. Where you consent through our cookie banner, we also set a functional chat cookie (nk_vid) that lets the chat remember your conversation; if you decline, chat still works using a temporary, session-only identifier and no persistent chat cookie is stored. Optional analytics cookies are used only where enabled. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser settings.

9. Data retention

We keep business and order records for the period required by law (generally up to seven years for tax and accounting purposes) and delete or anonymise other data when it is no longer needed for the purposes described above. Live-chat transcripts and their visitor identifiers are retained for a limited period (normally up to 90 days) and then automatically deleted. Unconfirmed registrations are deleted automatically if the email is not verified, and blog comments are kept until you ask us to remove them or we delete them during moderation.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; object to or restrict its processing; and request data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
